Diabetes professionals join forces to identify gaps in diabetes care and better self care
06-14-2007 · EurekAlert!The attached release, on behalf of the American Journal of Nursing, is based on findings from a symposium that involved the ADA, AADE, Joslin Diabetes Center and University of PA School of Nursing. Participants at the meeting identified barriers to, and strategies for, better patient self care among diabetes patients. Given the significant health care costs due to complications from diabetes and that two-thirds of these costs are for preventable conditions, better self-care management is essential.
