An international research team reports today, in the online open-access journal BMC Biology, how investigations using neuroimaging have revealed that the brain's left hemisphere helps discern the signal from the noise.

Despite polarized opinions, Democrats and Republicans perform same amount of 'green' actions

Political party affiliation has little bearing on the number of "green" actions people take, a new study by Porter Novelli and George Mason University shows. According to the survey of more than 11,000 American adults and nearly 1,000 of their children, Democrats on average perform only about 15 percent more "green" actions than Republicans, despite great differences in the two parties' perceptions of danger related to global warming.

At the same time, the Marine Aquaculture Task Force suggests that the federal government should provide funding and incentives for research, development and deployment of technologies, and techniques for sustainable marine aquaculture.
