Cross ownership has positive effect on local media coverage, MU researcher finds
01-23-2008 · EurekAlert!A study at the University of Missouri found that cross-owned television stations produce a greater percentage of local programming news content when compared to other network-affiliated stations in the same market. Cross-owned stations also show 7 to 10 percent more local news and offer about 25 percent more coverage of local and state politics.

Mexico's new health insurance program, Seguro Popular, which was created to extend health insurance to the nation's 50 million uninsured by 2010, is having a positive effect on coverage of antihypertensive treatment in that country. Results of a new study show that adults insured through Seguro Popular are significantly more likely to receive treatment for hypertension and significantly more likely to have their blood pressure controlled than those without health insurance.
