Comparative analysis of alcohol control policies in 30 countries, and more
04-23-2007 · EurekAlert!In a study in this week's issue of PLoS Medicine, Albert Lowenfels and colleagues used a new metric called the Alcohol Policy Index, which is designed to allow comparisons between countries of their alcohol policies. A clear inverse relationship was found between policy strength and alcohol consumption. The study is discussed in a related perspective article by Alison Ritter.
