Diverse Projects from Seven Schools are Top Winners at Brookhaven Lab's 2007 Elementary School Science Fair

Almost 500 science projects from 114 Suffolk County schools were entered in the 2007 Elementary School Science Fair, sponsored by Brookhaven Lab. The Laboratory's Office of Educational Programs coordinated the fair, which was held at the Laboratory on May 5, and Brookhaven scientists and local elementary school teachers judged the projects.

Ward Melville High School Student Wins First Place in Brookhaven Lab's Science and Society Essay Contest

Daniel Fourman, a student at Ward Melville High School in East Setauket, won the grand prize of $500 in the annual Science and Society Essay Contest sponsored by Brookhaven National Laboratory. Stephen Tuozzolo, a Sayville High School student, won $300 as the second-place winner, and Alicia Chionchio from Smithtown High School West, won $200 in third place.
